Gone Girl News and Updates
The reviews are in! What’s everyone saying about the Gone Girl movie?
- NPR says David Fincher’s direction “delivers jolts designed to make audiences squeal, while also letting you identify with characters one moment, and wish you hadn’t the next.”‘
- RogerEbert.com says this “overheated,” “plot-obsessed picture” is a “sick film, and often brilliant.”
- Entertainment Weekly praises the cast’s “gallows humor” and “calculating oiliness,” and gives it an A.
- Rottentomatoes.com gives it a pretty-darn-good 87%.
Now that we know Ben Affleck is officially the lead actor in the movie adaptation of Gone Girl, we can really start speculating wildly about whether the film version will be any good. David Fincher is set to direct and author Gillian Flynn will write the screenplay, which all seem like good omens. Here’s what we know so far!

- The movie cost $61 million to make and is predicted to do $35 million on its opening weekend.
