Profile
British author Jeffrey Archer, born in 1940, became a member of parliament seven years before he wrote his first book. His political career ended in scandal (he was imprisoned for 2 years – 2001-2003) but his career as an author continued.
His works number in the dozens including novels, collections of short stories, children’s books, plays and even a set of non-fiction prison diaries. His most famous work is perhaps Cain and Abel which became a 1985 TV mini-series.
Though often overshadowed by his personal life and alleged wrongdoing, Archer’s storytelling has earned him fans across the globe.
