Profile
Born in Chicago in 1958, Joseph Finder had big plans. Be a professor maybe. Or a spy. Having traveled the world as a kid, gone to Harvard and been recruited by the CIA, it seems like those big plans could have become reality. Instead, Finder decided he liked writing and he’s been at it since his first book was published in 1983 (the non-fiction Red Carpet: The Connection Between the Kremlin and America’s Most Powerful Businessmen). His first novel, The Moscow Club, a fictionalized account of Dr. Armand Hammer’s relationship with Soviet intelligence, was published in 1991. He has been writing popular thriller ever since. His books have won numerous awards and several have been made into films. Finder lives with his family in Boston.
